Privacy Policy

1. Scope and anonymous accounts

This policy applies to both the Android and iPhone versions of Spot the Difference Classic: World Travel (틀린그림 찾기 클래식 : 세계여행편), operated by Onweald (온웰드) in South Korea. Ranking mode asks for your consent the first time you tap Ranking Mode (랭킹 모드) on the home screen. If you agree, Supabase creates an anonymous account with a user identifier for rankings. Before you agree, the app does not create an account or send anything to the ranking server. You do not need to enter registration details or sign in manually. If you do not agree, you can still use every feature except ranking mode.

The app does not send your name, email address, phone number or location to the ranking server. Your nickname is a unique alias automatically generated by the server, and you can change it. Please do not include your real name or contact details in your nickname. The app has no advertising or usage analytics tools.

2. Information stored on your device

• Downloaded content: Game images, puzzle data, content lists and download status are stored to display the game and let you play downloaded puzzles offline.
• Game records: Completed puzzles, star ratings, play times and record timestamps, found differences and progress, mistakes, hints used and remaining, and country challenge status are stored to resume play and display results.
• Ranking mode records: The app stores your best score, recent attempts and attempt count. Section 3 explains which ranking information is sent and displayed publicly.
• Nickname and settings: The app stores your nickname, whether you agreed to join the rankings, sound effect and background music on/off and volume, and whether you have seen certain tips or confirmations.
• Anonymous account login information: If you agreed to join the rankings, the app stores a login session on your device to associate rankings with the same user.

Images are kept in app-specific storage; records and settings are kept in the app’s local storage on your device. Locally stored information remains until you delete it or the app updates the records. The app keeps up to 20 recent ranking attempts. Country challenge records are not sent to the server.

3. Information sent to the ranking server and its purposes

When you agree to join the rankings, the server automatically creates and stores a nickname. Records for a ranking run are sent when you finish that run (10 puzzles). Anonymous account connections and ranking queries also use the internet, but do not transmit country challenge records.

• Visible to other players: Your nickname (up to 14 characters), the flag corresponding to your country code, and your score. The ranking list displays these details and your rank.
• Not shown in the app: Differences found and total differences, average time per puzzle, mistakes and hints used, the user identifier created by Supabase, and the record timestamp. These are stored with the ranking record and used to manage ranking records and verify scores.
• Score verification: The server receives per-puzzle records from the run, recalculates the score and verifies it before storing it. This is used to prevent score manipulation.
• Country: The app uses your store account’s country code. If it cannot be read, it is left blank. Your device language or actual location is not used as a substitute.

Service and storage location: Supabase is used for anonymous accounts and ranking processing. Ranking data is stored on a server in Seoul. Communication with the server uses HTTPS.

Retention: The server keeps one ranking record per user per month. The server determines the month using Korean time. Previous months’ records remain after rankings close. You can delete them directly or request deletion as described in section 4.

The internet is also used to check and download content lists and game images. The app does not request access to your location, contacts, photo library, camera or microphone. Server communications transmit connection information such as your IP address and request path; the hosting service may keep access logs.

Google Play handles payment for the Android app, and the App Store handles payment for the iPhone app. The app does not ask for or store payment details such as card numbers.

4. How to delete stored information

The labels below include the current Korean settings labels so you can find the controls in the app.

1. Delete all downloaded images: In app settings, choose 다운로드한 이미지 모두 지우기 → 지우기 (Delete), then select 모두 지우기 (Delete all) in the confirmation dialog. This removes downloaded game images and puzzle data. Completion records, your nickname and preferences remain, and content lists may remain. Images can be downloaded again.
2. Delete device records: In app settings, choose 이 기기의 기록 지우기 → 지우기 (Delete), then select 기기 기록 지우기 (Delete device records) in the confirmation dialog. This resets this device’s completion records, star ratings, progress, hints and challenge status, and ranking best scores, recent attempts and attempt counts. Downloaded images, your nickname and settings (including your ranking consent), and rankings already uploaded to the server remain.
3. Delete server rankings and your anonymous account: While connected to the internet, go to Settings (설정) → Withdraw ranking consent and delete account (랭킹 동의 철회 및 계정 삭제) → Withdraw and delete (철회 및 삭제), then select Withdraw and delete (철회 및 삭제) in the confirmation dialog. If you have not joined the rankings and have no account, the Withdraw and delete button is disabled. This withdraws your consent to public ranking and deletes your anonymous account, nickname, server ranking records for all months, and this device’s ranking mode records (best score, recent attempts and attempt count). Country challenge records and downloaded images remain. Deletion cannot be undone. After deletion, no new account is created automatically. To join the rankings again, agree again in ranking mode; a new anonymous account and nickname are created at that time. You can also send a deletion request to the contact email in section 6 below. The developer will delete the relevant user’s ranking records for all months, nickname and anonymous account. Please include your nickname and approximately when you played ranking mode to help locate your records. Anonymous accounts do not have a registered name or email address, so the name or email address in your request alone cannot identify the account. An email request does not delete the game records, nickname or images stored on your device.
4. Change or delete your nickname: To change your nickname, select Edit (수정) next to your rank at the top of the Ranking (랭킹) screen and enter a new nickname (1–14 characters). The changed name also appears in previous months’ rankings; the ranking records remain. The nickname cannot be deleted on its own. To delete it, use the “Delete server rankings and your anonymous account” method above.
5. Uninstall the app: Uninstalling removes the images, records, nickname and settings stored in the app’s own storage on your device. Uninstalling alone does not delete server records. To delete those too, use the ranking consent withdrawal and account deletion feature described above before uninstalling, or email a deletion request.

Depending on your Android device backup settings or your iPhone’s iCloud or computer backup settings, some app data may be backed up or restored when you reinstall. Downloaded game images on iPhone are stored in an app-specific folder excluded from iCloud backup. Records and settings are kept in the app’s local storage (localStorage) on the device; the actual scope of backup and restoration may vary by device and backup settings. Uninstalling the app does not necessarily delete operating system backup copies. Check your device’s backup settings to manage those copies.

If you have agreed to take part in the leaderboard, your sign-in credentials are kept on your device so that the same account continues to work after you reinstall the app or move to a new device. On iPhone they are stored in the device keychain; on Android they are included in the device backup. These credentials contain no name or contact details, and they are removed together with your account when you use “Withdraw ranking consent and delete account” in Settings.

Country challenge records are not stored on the server and cannot be restored by the developer. Server ranking deletion cannot be undone either. Please send questions about deletion to the contact below.

5. Children under 14

The app does not ask for age or date of birth. Ranking mode processes the information described in section 3; children’s records are not automatically excluded. Please do not include real names, schools or contact details in nicknames. Children can contact the developer through a parent or guardian. Parents and guardians can use the contact below for privacy questions.

7. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we will post the changes and the new effective date on this page before they take effect. The September 11, 2026 revision covers anonymous accounts, transmission, public display and retention of server ranking records, use of the store account country, and deletion of server records and accounts. The September 14, 2026 revision clarifies coverage of the iPhone app for its launch and updates in-app ranking account deletion, nickname handling, payment providers for each platform, and device backup guidance. The September 18, 2026 revision adds the consent requested before your first ranking challenge and the renamed menu for withdrawing consent and deleting your account. The September 19, 2026 revision reflects that consent is requested the first time you tap Ranking Mode on the home screen and that no account is created before you agree, moves nickname changes to the Ranking screen, and aligns the names of the record deletion menus with the app. The September 21, 2026 revision adds that sign-in credentials are kept on your device (iPhone keychain, Android device backup) so the same leaderboard account continues to work after reinstalling.
